Proposed Amendments to Promote Development of Energy Sector
1 / 1
At April 16 NA regular sitting, the draft law on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resources authored by the NA deputy Artashes Petrosyan was debated in the first reading.

According to the author, the proposed amendments will have a positive impact on the development of the RA energy sector and will contribute to the creation of a favorable investment background for the economy in this important sector.

It is proposed to move the annual final deadline from December 31 to April 30 which will give the consumer an opportunity to produce and consume the volumes of energy that the person needs, avoiding additional costs, as the sunny days are shorter and the cloudy days are more in those months.

It was noted that as a result of the amendments, the a utonomous solar energy producers will be free from the additional monthly financial burden too, and night tariff fees will be paid during the annual final settlement.

The member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Hayk Tsirunyan, presenting the endorsement, noted that the bill will be more clarified in the second reading, as there is a need of some financial regulations.

The Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan presented the positive position of the Government.

The Deputy Minister has stated that there are some issues which will be debated after adopting it in the first reading.
